gwydion* Remember how they were projecting a 10% rise in food prices due to climate change? Yeah, they're now projecting 15% instead as the droughts and fire were even worse than they initially thought.
Take a minute to grasp how terrible that's going to be as far as human misery and actual starvation.
* Malala Yousafzai was stable enough to be moved to England for skull reconstruction and rehabilitation. They keep having to stop idiots trying to con their way into seeing her. They seem to be taking the investigation seriously in Pakistan and are now hunting the man who ordered the assassination attempt on 14 year old human rights activist. Let's all hope they follow through both on the investigation and the security for the family. I still maintain only cowards and bullies wold be out shooting unarmed school girls for wanting an education.
* It's looking like the Philippines is going to sign a peace agreement allowing one of the islands to become an autonomous region, ending one of the longest insurgencies in the region.
* The Red Cross/Red Crescent is running out of supplies to handle the ongoing Syrian refugee crisis. It's expected to get bad once Winter sets in. Right now would be an excellent time to pitch in to head off a disaster.
