* Michael O'Hare, best known as Commander Sinclair from B5 is dead of a Heart Attack he suffered last weekend. He was Sixty. Damn.

* If you've been following the bedding saga, I was impressed with the texture and strength of the pillow cases when I enrobed the pillows. Today I switched in the fitted and top sheet. OMG! It's a huge difference. These are the best sheets I've ever owned. The texture is amazing and the colour is vibrant. Apparently, I've been waiting for sale priced Royal Hotel 1200 TC bed sheets my whole life without knowing. I know it sounds decadent, but quality bedding is crucial to the whole sleep process between the AS pain and my sensory issues. An investment in good bedding is an investment in my ability to sleep and move on waking for the next decade or two. I know I could never afford their pillows, but I admit I now wish I could try one just once.

* So I watched Elementary. I still think I'd rather an all gender switched production, but this turns out to be an interesting take on the concept, with an unusual power dynamic rather different than other versions I've seen. The acting works for me. I think this show is going to have a lot to say and will be worth pulling apart and examining. I am rather disappointed that they are going with a heterosexual Holmes. I like my Holmes asexual and/or gay. It's a matter of personal taste, and not so far a big deal for me. Anyway, I am looking forward to more episodes to play with.

* Remember that Chocolate and other candy swap box I've been prepping with a kind contribution from the BPAL forum folks? Well it's open as of of today and nearly full. US, Canada, and Europe only, as travel time to places like Australia is just too long for a circular swap. I suggest going there right now if you want in: http://www.bpal.org/topic/78636-autumn-sweets-circular-swap-us-canada-europe/page__pid__2213043#entry2213043

Glad to hear that about Elementary... I was thinking about watching it and missed it, but maybe I'll try again when I get the chance.

Again, I'm not fond of a heterosexual Holmes, but I think the thing they were doing with the power dynamic in the pilot is really different and interesting. I am now fascinated to see what else they have to say. there was lot of advance worry that they were doing a watered down version of the BBC one, but I'd argue they are turning it on it's head rather. I love that there are now three really different interpretations being made with a whole host of different subtexts and themes. I love that here we are over a entury later and so many people are finding new things to say about such a popular piece of art.
