* I had to go downtown to mail a swap, so I hit the library, then blew the last of this month's money on yeast, as I keep craving my bread. When I got home, I started some dough, walked the black cats while I had salad and yoghurt with my meds. The tomato plants are already looking dramatically better. (They were cast off, being overgrown, wilted, and root bound, and thus free). I really ought to find some sticks to use as stakes. Currently, I've leaned them against stuff. They are two heirloom varieties. The rains have been rough on the gladiolas, poor things. I have hopes for more of the lilies as I'm seeing a lot of new growth. I am despairing of the asparagus, and may have to try again next year.

* Hector's brain chemistry seems to have evened out. He took an early evening nap with the whole group only emerging for food and pets rather than howling at me in the office for hours. As I write this, he's having a post snack groom on top of a book case. Fingers crossed. He's so sweet and cuddly when he's like this.

In what form do you buy your yeast?

I'd love to trade up to a jar, but the grocery that was on the way only had the three piece single use packets, which is what I mostly use.

Would you like some of my sourdough, and instructions on how to keep it alive? It is named Augustus.

As long as you won't hate me if he doesn't make it. I have a history of accidentally killing sourdough starter.
