* The Government massacre at Hula looks to have been significantly larger and more deadly than previously reported. CNN has footage of rooms full of the dead, including row after row of dead small children. The Syrian government wants to remind you that their murder of approximately all these unarmed people is not a violation of the ceasefire. The Russians agree and have no plans to stop funding the genocide, continuing to argue that the dead children have as much responsibility for their own murders as the grown men with guns who killed them. Following the Australian's lead, eight other countries including Canada and the US have expelled Syrian diplomats in protest. (It may be nine. I can't tell if Japan was before or after the CNN count). Syria is expelling the Dutch.

* In Egypt there are demonstration s and some small scale rioting in protest of them being given a choice between a member of the old regime and an Islamic extremist for president.

* They have sentenced former Liberian President, Charles Taylor, to 80 years in prison for War Crimes in Sierra Leone. It's the most they could give him.

* Greenwick came by. We had a picnic on the patio with the black cats and Ed Wood. Mache went in early as it go too chilly for her and had a nap in my chair. The Butt was mostly out with us. This was the longest he'd ever been outside, even staying out after dark for tummy rubs. Greenwick liked the "Taste of Spring" cupcakes, always a worry as they are complex and not very American in flavour. Luckily, we have similar tastes. Happy belated Birthday, Greenwick.

* This song still gives me chills even after all these years. It's not just the beauty of the song itself, but things like the sense memory of listening to it, lying on my bed in my attic room with rain coming down dreaming of getting out or me and Ken and Jeff talking about what we'd do when we were old enough to be free. (I hope they made it). This song feels like that to me, like working hard at crap job and being almost, but not quite ready to go, go Go! It feels like the way your bones ache with longing for the future you can't quite touch. That's what it is, it feels like Almost. http://youtu.be/O6475u0wEG0
