* The eleven states that execute the most prisoners are also the ones who did the most lynching. Now factor in that the whole justice system is waited against men of colour. they tend to be charged more harshly, tend to get harsher penalties, they are more likely to end up on death row statistically than white men who did identical crimes. The pardon system is dramatically weighted against them. I do not think the fact in my first sentence is an accident.

I am NOT surprised by this at all...I have had black friends whose relatives were lynched, primarily in the Southern states, but also in states like Indiana, Nebraska, and other places. But not surprisingly, the Southern states like Texas, the Carolinas,Mississippi, Louisiana, all have extremely strict sentences, and God forbid if you're a black man and you get accused of a serious crime. More men of color have been put to death than white men for the same crimes jjust as you stated. If a black man killed a white man, he'd get the death penalty instantly. Now, check this out. Some years ago, a white man in South Carolina killed a black man, and for the FIRST TIME SINCE 1875 during Reconstruction, a white man was put to death there for killing a black man. Go figure. And many black men of course we KNOW were innocent and put to death unfairly or got far longer sentences than white men. Case in point: a white man in Texas rapes a woman and gets 5 years.Black man did the same thing, got 30 years. To say our justice system is not racist is a big fucking lie.
