They even reference my beloved "This Film is Not Yet Rated!" Seriously, it seems to me that we have decided it's okay for children to experience this sort of abuse in their daily lives but not see it on film? How does that even begin to make sense? The argument is that the word "fuck" is obscene and offensive, not real live children being beaten and humiliated.

I wish I could be as optimistic as the writer about the MPAA going the way of the dodo, though I do think that fiture would be much brighter.

* Oh man, I should have stopped reading when I hit the transphobic slurs. It want on to not only ablism, problematic depictions of gay men, but racism so virulent it might have been from a century ago. May I add sex scenes so gross they make Charlaine Harris' terrible ones look good by comparison? I'm crossing that writer off my willing to read list.

* Ebay round Two: THE LADY OF LAKE RONKONKOMA 2010 (New York Comic-Con, LE): (Company says:. Balsamic, reedy water, sweetgrass, algae, loosestrife, and lady’s slipper.) To label top. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300690104582

* Some lucky bastards got ridiculous deals on two of my rares. Heartbreaking.

* I simply haven't been well enough to make the experimental pie ever since I gathered all the ingredients. I'm still not up to doing the whole mahushla, but I did a less elaborate teat of concept: cherry pie with rum flavoured pavlova topping. Unfortunately the crust did not cook sufficiently at the pavlova temperature. Clearly, I need to half cook the crust first, and then add meringue. Flavourwise, it was good, but not exactly what I wanted. More thinking clearly needs to happen.

* I don't do April Fools Day. You are safe here.

I was bullied in high school... I was fat and a geek who read comic books and just plain old books before classes and got picked on it plenty. It hurt and it still feels, sometimes, like I can't quite get over it whenever I see younger kids in their teens. I just flash back.

I skipped school a few times, and I often had fantasies of just blowing up the entire school. Not with everyone in it, just the school, because I hated how it brought us all together. It wasn't until my mom caught me at the video shop arcade one day that I told them all what happened, and then when mom and dad stepped in, things got better.

So it's heartbreaking on a level I can really feel that a film like this was almost held back due to the MPAA. I'm not sure what the situation is up here in Canada, but as our movie theatre chains are most likely owned by Americans, they might not carry the film unrated. I hope they do, as we have the same problems up here and kids need to see it.

Well, we have AMC theatres up here, so we might get it since they are showing it... I just don't know about the rest.

All we have in my town is AMC and the art cinima, so I'm keeping an eye out.
