gwydion* Governor McDonnell of Virginia signed the forced vaginal probe law, joining Texas as states with government mandated rape to punish women for being sexually active. He claims that medical rape will "help the Mother." Riiiiight. The wording was changed so that even though it requires probing in most cases, it doesn't actually say it out right. Too Republicans, "small government" means a government that literally intrudes on vaginas. I suppose it's like "job creation" meaning firing people.

* I went to the big gay pot luck for the first time in a year. I was way late as Squirrel needed to be dropped off at the far side of town and me then discovering that since I'd last used the car it had gone from a quarter tank to none, but I reconnected had a nice chat and an array of interesting salads. (I brought pie. Mmmm... pie). The other Wednesdays of the month, they eat at overpriced restaurants that appeal to old people, and the group tends to be mostly gay male senior citizens. The potluck is cheaper and way more diverse, as you get a bigger mix of ages, and though it's still gay male majority, there are lesbians and occasionally trans folks. All the events are advertised as welcoming of all ages and LGBTQ inclusive, but this is primarily a way for older guys to socialize as there really aren't many options for guys to old for the bar scene to make new friends in the community, and there are other ways to meet up easily for most other groups. The pot lucks are a bit of a problem for me as far as them not being in handicapped friendly location, and I can't really mingle with my legs, but cheaper and more diverse is an advantage.
