* There are missiles being exchanged between Israel and the people in Gaza this weekend. This is some scary shit folks.

Watching the pundits argue and the escalating news reports, I keep thinking of all the cold war era lead up to WWIII stuff I grew up with from Twilight Zone to Watchmen to tons of short and long Sf books.

* Kansas Caucus results: Santorum 51%, Romney 21%, Gingrich 14%, Paul 13%. All nine of Guam's delegates look to be going for Romney, as all 215 people who showed up voted for him, what with him being the only one campaigning there. In the Marianas Islands, where only Romney campaigned, he's also getting all nine delegates, though the votes was slightly more mixed: Romney 87%, Santorum 6%, Gingrich 3%, Paul 2%. Virgin Islands: Romney gets 7 delegates and 34% of the vote. Santorum gets 1 delegate and 29%. 29% did not commit. Santorum 6%, Gingrich 5%. Some of the delegates were unbound, but the whole thing exhausts me, so I'm not explaining it. I know I have International readers for whom this all looks chaotic and nonsensical. That is because it actually is chaotic and nonsensical.

* Gingrich is hanging a lot of his hopes on Mississippi and Alabama, which vote on Tuesday. He may drop out if he tanks at that point. Hawaii and American Samoa are also voting Tuesday. Hawii being where it is, I expect it will be a long night.

* Still taking it easy. I'm still vaguely ick, but mostly functional. Doctor etc. tomorrow, so saving spoons seemed sensible.

* Mache's doing much better. She's not as well as she was two years ago, but the warmer weather and the new meds are helping. She's about where she was before the near fatal infection last year, so I'm calling it good, especially considering all she's been through in the last year.

* Likely inappropriate Breakout Kings thought: Looking at the weaknesses of the leaders: Charlie has a weak heart= Tin Man, Julie has phobias = Cowardly Lion. Does that make Ray the Scarecrow?

* I linked this coat a few days ago as part of a larger photoset, but the beauty of this coat and the man in it haunts me: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzomhiKYgD1qep8kxo7_250.jpg
