* 144 people died yesterday in Syria due to government violence. I do not have a lot of faith in this new constitution written by the regime changing anything. It's likely just a gesture to try to undermine protests, rather than real reform. After all if it was a democratic reform, why are they still massacring civilians every day? The Red Cross/Red Crescent has started sneaking in humanitarian aid and evacuating minorities targetted for slaughter by the government. I'm tossing the Red Cross UK donate link here as they seem to be the branch most working with the locals to get aid in and refugees out. http://www.redcross.org.uk/Donate-Now

* rm found, looks like they are hoping to repeal the right to wed in New Hampshire. Short version, republican House and Senate want to take away the right to marry. Democratic governor threatens veto, so the question is do the reactionaries have enough votes for an over ride. Much depends on libertarian and fiscally focused moderate Republicans.: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/28/us/gay-marriage-law-in-new-hampshire-may-be-revoked.html?_r=1&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1330423547-rbZXmfWbfy2q8jwQXyRa9g

* So, Arizona and Michigan vote today. This means I'll likely just be dipping Us news sources for totals.

* Wow, I'm already feeling the new dose.

* I'd just got Hector back to inbred birmin normal from his bad psych epiode when the construction kicked him back into literally climbing the walls. I do mean literally. I heard an emphatic clawing sound when I was making curry and looked over to find he'd scaled my door frame to shoulder height and was clinging desperately to the molding. He also does this thing where he banks off the walls at waist height on his way to a higher jump. It took me about four hours to get him out of the panic attack/flashback zone. The psych meds slowed him down enough to finally nap, after which his personal world was much better, poor thing. they still aren't done. I saw at least one railing section missing.

* I heard what sounded like a very soft, zombie moan. A short investigation turned up that it was the Butt moaning/growling in his sleep. He's a weird little cat.

* Stupid NASCAR ate my stories. *pout*

* Waltz with Bashir is really intense. I am now wishing I'd had the chance to see it in the theater where I could have no distractions at all. I'm clearly going to hab=ve to watch it a few more times, but not right away. I need to recover first.

* Wait! Billy Crystal did what now? Someone who watched the Oscars please tell me whether or not billy crystal did Blackface. I'm hoping this is a hoax, because if it's not, WTF!?! Blackface is not okay. Do we really need to go over this again?

He did. I was under the impression that it was just a line or two in the middle of a speech -- as an imitation -- didn't realize it was an actual skit (I guess I was in the bathroom or something during this part)? Oh jeez. Here's a link: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/8426428/billy-crystal-slammed-for-oscars-blackface-skit

Man, I totally missed that. (The intro was so awful that after the first couple clips I muted the TV and started watching Youtube until it was over, so hadn't paid attention.) That's just awful.

Another reason to be glad I skipped the Oscars.
