gwydion* At least 32 more people died in Saturday's tornadoes in the Midwest and South. They were still digging people out when I checked, so that's not a final number.
* Washington caucus results: Romney 37%, Paul 25%, Santorum 24%, Gingrich 11%, Other 4%.
* I forgot to mention the Wyoming non-binding caucus on Leap Day, mostly because it doesn't much count: Mitt Romney 39%; Rick Santorum 32%, Ron Paul 21%, and Newt Gingrich 8%.
* In time traveling economic news, Rick "frothy residue" Santorum is claiming that the rise in gas prices in 2008 caused the retroactive collapse of the economy in 2007. O.o No, he did not explain how this reversal of causation occurred, or why every credible economist is wrong in saying that deregulation caused it. It's almost as if he is just pulling santoum out of his ass, isn't it?
* I forgot to mention that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and the Mayor of Newark are both publicly taking Mayor Bloomberg of New York and the NYPD to task for illegally spying on folks in New Jersey.

* It's Girl scout Cookie season. When you are making your perchasing decitions, keep in mind that Girls Scouts are under attack from the Christian Right for being LGBT inclusive and forward looking unlike the Boy Scouts. Lets reard them for protecting our kids instead of excluding them like the Christain protesters are demanding.

* The photo of the marine kissing his boyfriend after a sixth month tour in Afghanistan is heartbreakingly beautiful. For me, it's stuff like this that DADT repeal was about. It's about corresponding openly when apart; it's about the person waiting at home not depending on possibly hostile family for notification when bad stuff happens; it's about benefits; it's about that moment when all the loved ones are standing together waiting for a service member to debark from that bone or that plane, and getting to hold that person like you'll never let each other go. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/tdy-120228-gay-marines-1030a.photoblog600.jpg

* It occurs to me that the Fusion Proglide razor commercial startles me so much because I'm not used to advertisements aimed directly at my libido. Isn't that weird? I'm used to advertising being aimed at other people's libido, because that's been a constant background thing my whole life. I am used to TV ads having nothing to do with me at all, really, since the products and imagery are aimed at someone so different from me there is little connection. It's weird to have an actual TV ad aimed at me, at my own little demographic. I am fundamentally used to advertisers not wanting my money thanks to forty two years of conditioning by advertisers to believe that is the case. How weird is that for someone who is born and raised in the US?
