gwydion* The Syrian government slaughtered more than 130 civilians yesterday. Satellite photos of Homs corroborate footage taken of he damage and smuggled out, as they show massive recent damage, contradicting official Syrian sources that keep pretending they aren't slaughtering their own people. The Syrian people have started fighting back, but hand guns and Kalishnakovs are no match for tanks. There's been an assassination of a general and some suicide bombings in Aleppo. Turkey has informed our government they are panning to start an initiative with countries opposing the slaughter in Syria. I wish them luck. (Yes, I know Turkey's hands aren't clean when it comes to genocide, but hey are the best best for Uniting middle eastern and western powers to help at the moment.)
* Yes, I've heard about the Chinese twitter rumors of Kim Jung Un's assassination. I haven't seen anything official confirming or denying yet.

* Whitney Houston looks to have gone the way of Amy Winehouse. They didn't list cause of death, but given the circumstances, I'm guessing thee will be a complex toxicology report in the near future. Addiction is a terrible thing. It destroyed her voice and her career and has now taken her life.
* I managed to step on both senior beasties this morning. I feel terrible. They've taken to lurking on the other side of the door hanging, which is a recipe for disaster.
* There was more loud hammering and banging today. At least they only went to lunch time. It still doesn't look finished.
* Remember that pool I was planning to use for physio in the summer? They filled it in this week. Damn.
* With all this bus travel lately, I'm wishing they still had that rule where handicapped people not in wheelchairs got to sit in the front of the bus. I think it's cool people are so good at getting out of the way of wheelchairs. I just still wish they let folks with canes and the like, the elderly, and people with small children sit first. My balance is terrible and it's hard to keep my footing around corners when standing, it freaking hurts, and the aisles aren't really wide enough for me and my crutch to hobble further back. The signs are still up for preferential seating, but it's fifty fifty if anyone has the conscience to follow it. Sigh.
* If you google image my legal name, there are no pictures of me. (Good. I'm happy not to have my name turn up photos clothed or not). There are, however, two iterations of the coyote icon silverblue drew for me. Curiouser and curiouser.
* Walking Dead's supposed to be back. At this point, I'm sticking to see if my favorite character is done right. If they fuck up M. (and to a certain extent T., who is also in my top five), I'm simply done. I am already uncomfortable with the show's racial and sexual agenda, as opposed to the more diverse graphic novels (The graphic novel version has strong women and POC in leadership roles, instead of all white men. Gay inclusion comes late, but is at least cool and positive, and LGT inclusion in zombie fiction of any kind is unicorns and hens teeth, so I'm pretty happy with it) If they fuck up M and T, I'll know for sure there is no hope for the show getting its act together.
