leoprincess at (SBP) Orb: The Shine.Every now and then, I'll be posting on projects that could/do require a bit of a signal-boost to get warranted attention. Given my shift in personal politics and values over the past, say, 3 years, such projects will likely feature or be headed by people of colour and/or LGBTQs in large if not dominate roles. If that's not your cup of tea, that's fine; we each measure this world by a different yard stick. As long as we be civil and mature about our differences in opinion, it's all good.
To start the ball rolling, my first Signal Boosting Promo (SBP) is 'Orb: The Shine', a LGBT independent comic project I encountered while browsing IndieGogo. Co-created and co-written by Tom S. Johnson, Orb's summary goes a little something like this:
"Orb
In The Shine, the first chapter of Orb, Eli and Mira send Tory, a young gay New Yorker juggling a challenging career and a difficult relationship, to retrieve his troubled brother Aren from London. There, Tory meets Saj, and the three of them discover that they have superpowers. In the thumbnail image for the campaign, Tory is depicted, and in the larger image above, Tory, Aren and Saj are depicted just after this discovery.
Orb is a comic book series about a diverse group of LGBT individuals who must band together in order to usher in the next phase of evolution. Only Eli and Mira are aware of the purpose for which their special abilities are intended, and it is up to them to unite and train the others with powers for the impending challenge."
