Sep. 23rd, 2011 11:47 pm* I did not watch the whole debate last night, but I did see the crowd booing a deployed gay marine. Charming. No thank you for your service. not a single candidate stood up for a man risking his life in Iraq. They support the troops my hairy ass. Rick Santorum came out that no one in the military should ever have sex. Yep, Rick "frothy residue" Santorum wants the whole military to be celibate. Why is that not getting more coverage? I also saw Rick Perry, unnerved by their cruelty and lack of compassion to the children of immigrants, call the crowd heartless and watched them boo their darling. Rick Perry isn't crazy enough for them. O.o
* In other Santorum news, he's up to three again on google search, so clearly there is need for more googling. Also? My spell checker keeps trying to correct him into a sanitarium. O.o
* No, watching a clothed trans man ball room dance is neither inherently obscene nor will it magically turn children trans.
* What with the government on the verge of shutdown again and the FEMA funding shortage, congress is going on vacation. After all, they need more than half a year off, unlike government workers who the Republicans vilify who on average use 14 days off out of the 18 they are entitled too.

* Hector had a relapse today which prevented me getting proper sleep. I did manage a depressing round of apartment hunting, but not the other thing I was meant to do today. I dreamed of Kristie from Eugene. In the dream she had a new husband and a 6 or 7 year old child. I liked Kristie a lot, but I admit, I miss Keith more in my waking life, with his zaftig enthusiasms and amusing turn of mind. Kristie was my friend, but she and Skye were closer, just as Keith and I were closer. We used to play a lot of bridge with them at their place, and when I picture them, there are cards and tea on the table, and Jagged Little pill playing in the background.
