Sep. 22nd, 2011 02:16 am* As they promised, Republicans are holding disaster relief funding hostage in an attempt to firce the democrats to do more things to hurt the economy. after all, who cares if people have died, homes and small businesses are destroyed, and bridges are falling down. these things hurt ordinary humans, not international corporations or billionaires, so it's not like their decitions hurt anyone they consider real people.
FEMA runs out of money in two days. Yes, we are still in the middle of hurricane season.
* Meanwhile the Republicans are also going after a Federal Reserve because its remit is to help the economy and they are strongly against that.
* They executed Troy Davis, even though police coerced witnesses to identify the wrong man and he had nothing even close to a fair trial.
For the record, I understand why police were angry about the shooting of the off duty officer, but that doesn't justify rounding up a random African American and executing him. Much better to catch the actual murderer.
* There have been protests on Wallstreet since Saturday, but hardly anyone is covering it. Yahoo has been blocking their organizational emails, but promises to stop. Eventually.
* I actually got reasonable sleep despite Hector, because of my sleep debt I'm still barely functional. I did mail my ebay, but completely failed at looking for an apartment.
