Help Me Crowd Source Questions for the Author

Sanat and I are hoping to get neo_prodigy on to Feast of Fun Piodcast. They just emailed me asking me to come up with good questions to ask. I suck at this sort of thing. (I'm fine in person, but I'm terrible at coming up with questions cold in advance).

It occurred to me y'all are clever, and many brains are better than one anyway. They are particularly interested in the "We Got your Back" Project. Other topics under discussion should be his book, POc and LGBT representation in YA and the like. Please, please please suggest some questions, so i can pass them on to Fausto.

Why do you think the sexuality and ethnicity of characters who are not straight, while and male are held up as the sole defining traits in either their creation or discussion?

What do you feel the world of comics ( the artists, the storylines, etc) can do to include more powerful women of color? And why is it that we still lack Asian heroes and heroines in that area? They are virtually non-existent.

International Superheroes. What steps do you think comics need to to take to create superheroes from other countries that are not some cultural stereotype and for comic book companies to acknowledge it's wider fanbase?

Do you think it's time we create new superheroes and universe instead of rehashing and trying to milk that same superhero universe over and over again? I'm think about the Milestone comics here. Do you think there should be a larger presence of superhero comics outside of the Big Two?

If given the chance, what ambitious comic project would you personally like to see accomplished? What story would be worth telling?

Sorry about the vagueness of the question - I'm not very good at these kinds of thinge either. I'm thinking of creators who toil on lower-case projects until they're given free rein to have creative control over their own devices.

Comment on the controversy surrounding Miles Morales, the new biracial SpiderMan.

Dan Savage himself has said that one weakness of The It Gets Better Project is that it cannot effectively extend beyond the limits of YouTube, that people can't take

And if someone, anyone, could make a case for the importance of recognizing intersectionality, while clearly distinguishing it from "the Oppression Olympics", I'd be ever so grateful.

Fuck, stupid mobile, my fingers are skinny as and I still fatfinger things. The middle comment should continue "that people can't take a queer-positive message into school assemblies without being barred by hysterical protesters screaming that teh gays are recruiting. Do you agree with this estimation, or can you point to efforts that have successfully brought LGBT acceptance into schools under the banner of diversity education, where it belongs?"

Oh yeah, and slash fiction. How problematic and objectifying is slash fiction, considering how a great deal of it is written about men in homosexual pairings by straight women for other straight women? Is it an extension of the Magic Homo trope, or just a bit of harmless amateur porn?
