Apparently there is a new worm you can get from facebook. I don't do facebook, but I use adobe, and apparently you can get it that way too. It just zapped my main computer despite me having AVG active.

There goes two hundred dollars I was hoping to save for Orycon, damnit. I also just wasted three hours trying to get tech support help. At least this gentleman had and accent that was not mutually unintelligible with numbers. I am so tired of having this useless stupid expensive drama every year.

I do no understand why so many people think it's funny to do expensive damage to random people in poverty who never harmed them.

I still don't have a car, because I cannot afford to replace the last one. This means I can't have any sort of real world social life. Nice to know fucking up my only remaining social oulet really made some asshole feel good and self righteous, because it looks pretty shittty from where I'm sitting.

I'm not being ingenuous. I honestly don't understand why hurting the people who can least afford it is so funny to so many people.

I just want to go to bed and get some sleep, but I'm still on fricking hold, and if I hang up now, I'll have to start from scratch tomorrow.

I gave in and paid the microsoft subcontractor. As I write this they are working on trying to finally get the scanner I inherited when Skye was killed. For my $200.00 they do full support, not just for the virus, but optimize, fix small stupid problems, etc.. I figured I'd be paying about the same to get a shop to sort it, plus I'd have to carry it in, and I couldn't watch what they are doing.

If nothing else, watching the dude work has been genuinely interesting.

It infuriates me that I got a facebook worm when I hate facebook with the fury of a thousand suns.

It's kind of you to offer.

I miss having local friends who can sort things like this out.

Speaking of friends. Is there any change of you coming to Orycon? I'd love to meet you in person after all these years of lj friendship.

I'm unemployed so I have the time. (I'm awake now because I need to renew my unemployment claim at 8 AM Eastern time, and if I don't call right then and get through I may not get through all day.)

As far as Orycon is concerned it really does depend on the money situation, and possible job situation. I really need the money to make things happen, you know? But if things work out I should try - there's a few people to see there.

Turns out, it's going to be a long download to get the printers going and I'm to call them tomorrow, but they sorted the worm first thing.
