* I see Glenn Beck is claiming that the new multi-racial Ultimate Spider Man is really an Obama related conspiracy. *facepalm*

* Rush Limbaugh was pushing the birther conspiracy still.

* That thing where Hector howls at me to pet him then tries to bite me when I comply can stop any time now.

* Long ago, in the mists of time, when I was a lowly freshman and joy_in_the_dark and I were first friends, I used to watch him in the Dining Hall trying to convince people that North Dakota didn't exist, that it was a trick done with mirrors and back drops. He was surprisingly successful. Any way, every time it is mentioned that North Dakota may not actually be a state, I think, "Wow, he was right all along!"

* The remaining FAA safety inspectors are having to pay for work related travel and accommodation out of pocket. Charming. The FAA is expected to get short term reauthorization tomorrow, but the tens of thousands of people who lost their construction jobs may or may not be getting them back. It's cost 400 million dollars so far, not counting losses to local airports, unemployment pay outs, and costs of restarting frozen construction projects. In September, we get to do it all again. After all, it's not as if this wastage of money and human capital, and the resulting uncertainty hurts billionaires, so it's not like it matters to Republicans. After all, people not born rich deserve to be punished by having their union rights stripped and their jobs put in jeopardy for republican political gain, right?

* The stock market had the tenth worst drop in history today in a continuing downward trend since Congress decided to follow the Republican plan to unnecessarily impose a double dip Recession for republican political gain.

* Meanwhile, Italy is in serious danger of default, which could take the Euro with it, as the other European powers likely haven't the resources to handle both Spain and Italy gouing down at once.

* Mitt Romney has not only two counts of voter fraud under investigation, but it looks like someone set up a shell company, solely for the purpose of laundering a million dollars to go directly into Mitt Romney's superpac, which is still likely illegal despite Citizen's United.

* A man in Sweden was arrested for building a nuclear reactor in his apartment with parts from ebay. O.o

* They have found salt water on Mars, in a seasonal melt.

* Remember how last July, I started trying to get them to fix our toilet seat? Well today, more than a year later, the perfectly nice eastern European gentleman (or cat eating ogre, if you ask the cats) came by and finally bolted down the seat, so it no longer pinches delicate parts when one sits on it. Is this some sort of record, I wonder?

* Today, it was too hot to sleep properly. My dreams involved mummies demon summing Sam Winchester.

* I did manage to get all the books back and can dive into Hollowstone once I'm done here.
