gwydion* The Republican plan to default not only will shave 10% off the GNP, but will suck 30 billion dollars out of the economy. The plan to default is a plan to deliberately create a double dip recession for no reason except ideology. There is no positive benefit for the country at large.
* A 108 year old water main burst in the Bronx yesterday, causing flooding. After all, isn't it better to waste money by let the infrastructure crumble than to fix/upgrade it, stimulate the economy, and save money in the long run? After all, tax cuts for the rich are waaaay more important than keeping bridges from collapsing, water mains bursting, sewers clogging, roads and levies crumbling, etc.. After all, the only people who matter are billionaires.
* I freely admit that using Gaga's "Teeth" as a shark week promo theme song is clever. Of course it leaves me craving homoerotic bondage vampires.

* I'm now outright feverish and I think the flu is resurging. I'm so tired of this. I am guessing I have next to no chance of doing the thing I'm meant to be doing tomorrow, as it took me literally two hours to get up and dressed today.
* Hollowstone came today, but I have a stack of things need to go back to the library early next week, so they are going to have to go first. Better to wait until I can concentrate better anyway, I'm thinking.
* Where am I in B5? Two days ago I wept for the brave, doomed Narns charging the breach and valiant Captain Hiroshi. Today it was my favorite Bester scene, "For the love of God, Montressor!"
