Jul. 23rd, 2011 02:26 am* I actually caught the President and Mr. Boehner's speeches real time in their entirety. I'm so disgusted by the self serving hot air in the face of an entirely self made disaster, that I have very little to say at this point. It is simply not okay to hold the entire US economy hostage because Republicans are so spoiled that they'd rather destroy the full faith and credit of their country if they can't have every single thing their own way.
* I am exhausted. I have spent way too much money on cleaning supplies this month. The amount of cleaning still needing doing it daunting. I still have the flu. I'm still not getting even close to enough sleep.

* They kicked two lesbians out of a Gertrude Stein exhibit in San Fransisco for holding hands. Read that sentence again. I suspect you will spot several things wrong with it. They kicked two lesbians out of a Gertrude Stein exhibit in San Fransisco for holding hands. Seriously, wouldn't you think a freaking Gertrude Stein exhibit in San Francisco would be a safe space for lesbians? Who exactly were they thinking the core audience would be? I am having trouble seeing why the other lesbians at the exhibit celebrating the life of a lesbian in the city that had the first gay mayor in the united states would be okay with other lesbians holding hands, so I can only wonder why they thought having homophobes guarding the exhibit was a good idea. I am running out of WTF here, folks.
* From an abortion discussion elsewhere, in response to the plan to have fetuses "testify" in legislative session by showing their heartbeats on a monitor. Me: Don't get me wrong, I still pick the Mother's rights and needs over the fetus's, but I'd have more sympathy for anti-choice arguments if they focused on the presence or absence of a functional pre-frontal cortex rather than a heartbeat. I don't see how people who eat meat can claim that the heartbeat is the magical human rights defining moment.
