* Today were the Wisconsin Recall election primaries.

* Berry Moon and a Klimt charity miniseries dropped. Luckily nothing I want, but some of you might. There's also a list of new discontinuations, so best to check if it effects one.

* I wish the Republicans would explain why the richest 1 percent not getting a bonus tax cut from there already ridiculously low tax rate causes unbearable uncertainty, when not sending 70 million or so people their pay checks, veterans benefits, and social security payments is a completely acceptable risk to the economy? You'd think it would be exactly the opposite.

* The Butt has this new thing he does where he goes right for the crotch with hgis claws when he wants attention. He can not understand why this is not going over well with the humans.

* I don't understand why there is all this fuss over light bulbs. It's a hundred plus year old technology. The new bulbs are all around better. Why all this whining about switching to them. We've been using them in our house for ages and they are just fine.

* On the James Ray verdict: http://lurkitty.livejournal.com/481859.html

* I wonder if there's a betting pool on when Michelle Bachman's husband is going to have his gay sex scandal. I'm suspecting Republican strategists are hoping it's before the primary.

* The Clutch: Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

* Scary people Republican hopeful Rick perry had at his prayer event. Includes claims Oprah is the antichrist, the Statue of liberty is a demon sent by the Illuminati, and that God sent Hitler: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/ns/msnbc_tv-rachel_maddow_show/#43734392

A large portion of flourescent lights are in a spectral range which exacerbates sensory issues for me. The push is to compact flourescents which means less comfort for me in areas where i cannot avoid artificial light. I have very little sensory issues with the older style lights with the exceptions of those which are intended to mimic 'natural' light.
There is also the fact that if the bulb shatters on CFL's it does release small levels of potentially toxic gasses. It's a very small risk but worth noting.
My issue is not that they want people to go to more energy saving routines around the home i just know that i'd be less able to cope with the world were i forced into a neccessary trial and error phase until i could find a CFL which didn't exacerbate the Sensory issues and pray to heaven that the company i found didn't change the formula on me suddenly.

Many fluorescents set off my migraines, so I'm not really happy about the prospect of having to use them. I have heard that there has been some progress lately in incandescent technology; making them more energy efficient. I hope that any law passed will allow for new technology.

I, too, am concerned about heavy metals in CFLs, and the environmental impact.
