Jun. 18th, 2011 07:55 pm* I reestablished contact with my forth Freshman roommate. I see the Johnnie rumor mill proceeded me. I spent so long out of contact with Johnnies and I still really only have contact with a handful of people. It's so easy to forget how small town the St. John's rumor mill is, even when it's a global village connected by email and the like. Johnnies do love their gossip.
I don't mind. I've nothing to hide. Pity anyone who does. This was a school where everyone knew everyone and they tracked who was fucking whom by where they sat at lunch, or, on a warm evening, one could stand outside of Pinkney and hear who was fucking first hand. Living at St. John's was a little like living on stage or in the movie The Truman Show, and I was already thinking of my life as a sort of elaborate performance art mostly for my own edification and amusement when I arrived, but anyone was welcome to watch.
