* I failed to get through the whole people I need to phone list, but I'm down to one item. I did not finish several things needing finishing, but I did manage to get some fish and housework stuff done that needed doing desperately. Not great, but progress.

* TA former Republican Governor of Georgia has openly admitted they have a serious problem with racism that needs addressing, and has also denounced a new law intended to harass POC. O.o

* To my way of thinking, there is something profoundly wrong with my country because we have one type of citizenship for straight white Christian cis men, and a variety of lesser types for everybody else. Yes, I won't be shutting up until we have one kind of citizenship for everyone or I'm dead. I know, I don't personally benefit from some of the kinds of equality I advocate. That doesn't matter. I fundamentally believe in the right to be different. I fundamentally believe in consent. I fundamentally believe that putting obstacles in people's way over accidents of birth is an asshole maneuver and the government sure as shit shouldn't be doing it. I believe the government would better serve the people by investing in human capital instead of wasting it.

* I see Scott Adams is airing his misogyny again. Yuck.

* Some Republican operatives have been indicted for an illegal voter suppression effort in the last election. Finally.

* Meanwhile legal voter suppression efforts against the you, old, poor, and brown continue in Missouri, Wisconsin, Maine, etc.. After all, ordinary people voting is bad for corporations and the Republicans.

To their credit, they pulled the article. I'm not sure how it got past editorial in the first place, though. Someone dropped the ball on that one.

Why would they want someone like that representing their company in any capacity, though?

He's a freelancer who has been writing a series about playing D&D with kids. Up until now, the articles have been fairly well-received, and I don't recall seeing any warning signs. I suspect that the editorial staff got lazy and gave him the benefit of the doubt on the recent article, when they should have been much more critical. They did the right thing in taking it down, but I hope they review their editorial process to make sure that this doesn't happen again.
