gwydion: (Real Enough)

* Today, the Cottonwood bloomed, and all over town, people woke up around 6:30 AM sneezing uncontrollably. I ended up burning my last twenty for tissues and heavy duty anti-histamines. I likely still have enough small bills for meds, but this means no yoghurt and fresh fruit. I'm still craptastic, even with all my antihistamines doubled up.

It's a good thing I finished all the scent reviews yesterday, as I'm scent blind now.

I failed to even start my list of phone calls as trying to sort out errands in this state used up all my social.

* Yes, I'm aware of virulently racist ad from the California GOP, attacking anti-gang programs that actually work, by pretending that instead of reformed gangsters to encourage kids not to go that way as a program about paying black men to rape white women. It also includes some serious misogyny. I refuse to link it on the grounds it's fucking evil and not fit to be seen my human. Suffice to say that 1. It's not true. 2. It's stuff like this that outright damages our country.

Meanwhile Congress is yet again holding anti-Muslim hearings during which they grilled their only Muslim member about how he's all evil, presumably on the grounds that harassing a law abiding member of congress who happens to be African American and not a christian is way more important than the financial crisis, the wars, and all the things that actually could be good for the country.

Fuck you Congressman Peter King and Republican candidate Craig Huey! I hope y'all lose your elections, on the grounds of your virulent racism turning around and biting you on your asses. I feel dirty having seen the footage.

* It looks like there will be no investigation of the allegations that Mitt Romney has committed voter fraud on the grounds that he was an active voter and therefore couldn't be committing fraud, even though his supposed residence is an unfinished basement and he has real homes elsewhere where he's been seen to dwell. Who thinks if he were poor, or Democrat, or a POC the authorities would be ignoring this? I mean after all, in Maine, two cases of voter fraud were a "crisis" requiring disenfranchising large numbers of people. Can we see if his wife is doing it also? If so, is that enough "crisis" to disenfranchise millionaires? somehow, I doubt it. Pick a standard folks, that's all I ask.

* Pakistan has arrested five CIA informants for turning in osama bin Laden. Can we pull out of Afghanistan now please, so we can stop bribing Pakistan to let us use them to get our supplies to the war?
