* Tonight, the Republicans voted to default on all of the United State's loans, thus to permanently wreck our economy, likely for generation to come. They say will not let our country's economic system survive unless the Democrats agree to kill medicare.

After all, instead of forcing them to filibuster and fight for the things they want to do to harm ordinary people, they democrats always cave. Why shouldn't they believe that the Democrats will give in and agree to kill disabled people, like me, and elderly disabled people like my Mother. After all, they voted to defund medicare by voting for bonus tax cuts for the rich last time they threw a tantrum. Never say no to a spoiled child, and ze won't believe you the one time you are serious.

I know killing off elderly and disabled people is an attractive idea for republicans, but why can't just once, they take into account what's best for the economy and 99% of Americans, instead of solely focusing on the interests of the richest one percent?

Why do I care so much? Because there aren't enough books like this, and it's getting even harder to publish original things instead of things that look like what every body else is doing. Obviously, the book isn't out yet, so I haven't read it, but the samples I've seen are well written, and more then that, this is a story I haven't seen told yet, a voice I haven't seen in either YA or adult literature. I was a scholarship kid in the northern version of a school a lot like that, and I was paying attention. (I had a knack for blending into nigh invisibility back then, and guys would say things in front of me, forgetting I was there, or maybe not caring because I never told). The glimpses I've seen and the bits I've heard about make me think of the things I only heard whispered by boys who thought they were alone, and I think that it would be a good and important thing for boys like certain of the ones I grew up with get to see people like them, get to hear things said out loud, that they were scared to say when they thought anyone was listening, truths about race and sexuality that need speaking.

I can't wait to read this book, and I'm only sorry the chances of me having the money this month are slim.

* Apparently the MRI is Thursday, which spreads out my obligations even further. I did manage to get all the things needing doing today done, including swimming a standard set of laps instead of minimum. I had hoped to get a nap, but the thunder was so loud, i couldn't sleep. I read some more graphic novels instead.

* I lost a whole box of BPALs, the ones I took to the last meet up. I've checked all the logical places. Now to try to think of illogical ones.

* HRC had the nerve to phone me for money today. Assholes.

* What's the deal with gas prices? Approximately 80% of market activity is speculation, and 40% of the current price is caused by speculation. What's the government doing? They granted an official emergency powers to curbed speculation, but being a scrotum (weak and soft), he is unwilling to use them, so really, nothing is being done.

* What's up with Wisconsin right now? The petitions to recall Republicans were gathered by grass roots activists and have been certified. The republicans, lacking popular support for recalling the brave democratic senators that stood up to them, hired out of state firms to collect signatures for profit. The resulting petitions are so full of rampant frauds, it's going to take a lot more time to certify them. The republicans went to court to try to block the recall elections for the republicans. The courts said that the certified pretitions should go on the ballot. the election board is ignoring the ruling. Sigh.

I ask again, what will it take to restore the rule of law in Wisconsin?

* Yes I heard about congressman Wiener's twitter getting hacked. I suspect it was done to try to take him down because he's been so strong an advocate of single payer, LGBT folks, women's rights, etc., but i can't prove it. Think they'll go after DeFazio next?

* Bank of America just foreclosed on the building in which one of their branches is housed. That's so meta.

* I dreamed I was packing for a trip to Australia to see silverblue.

I am afraid I once startled young woman who was partially blocking the corner at the university, working as human spam for the HRC, into tears with my brief but vehement, "No, I am a transsexual and you people voted to fuck me to death."

I dreamed I had a pet turkey vulture.

*snerk*

I said "threw us under the bus," but my response was similar in tone. I hung up, rather than listen to what he was going to say to that.

Aaaaw! Turkey vulture!

I walked away. I only knew about the tears because I was going to the uni library and the table I took was near a window, from which I could observe the other human spam comforting her.
