* Yes, I saw the Who premiere. I spent the whole episode wishing Jack would show up. *facepalm* I'm really not liking the season arc. I kind of liked the smaller mystery. The whole episode left me ambivalent. My problems with Moffat are long chewed over and continueing.
* Yes, I've been watching Game of Thrones, mostly because I like Bean. I still have no idea what the names of most of the characters are, but I have untangled who is related to whom whom, mostly. I've got real problems with the racial narrative, along with a whole host of other issues. I'm not really having fun, though there are moments that interest me. I've never read the books and am now queasy enough from watching the show that I likely won't bother. I'll likely stick it out a little longer in case it improves, but meh.

Date: 2011-04-25 07:09 am (UTC)Don't be offended, but will think about defriending in the next few days- because I'm Aspy I like 'friending' and other categories to be meaningful, and if it turns out to not be sufficiently robust a definition of the association I have with someone (because of lack of connection, not enough shared interests, etc), I usually defriend.

Date: 2011-04-25 09:54 am (UTC)Racially things should hopefully improve as the story goes on, if they're anything like the books. Not only is Dothraki culture explored more in-depth, (they're not just the generic barbarian horde like out of D&D) but there's others too, that I'm *hoping* are handled well on screen.
As for other issues, not sure what you have a problem with but if you're predicting how you think things will go... keep watching. This will take a lot of the classic fantasy tropes and turn them on their head. It's a very deep story and most things aren't as they first seem. (This is the only fantasy series that's able to regularly shock me with surprising plot twists.)
But, it comes down to if you're not having fun, don't try to force it. This series definitely won't be for everybody.
