Apr. 2nd, 2011 10:52 pm* Props to both Rep. Wiener and Rep. DeFazio for their bold and elaborate mocking of Majority Leader cantor for not knowing how a bill becomes law. Extra points to Anthony Wiener for reading from a children book available in the gift shop so that the explanation was in very, very small words.
It's nice to see them out there exhibiting spine and a brain at the same time when so few of their colleagues seem to have them.
* I finished the Spiral Hunt. Unfortunately it suffered from me not being able to read more than a chapter at once for more than half the book, so it's hard to properly assess quality. The world building was interesting and a touch off the beaten track, the main character was appealing, and it was blessedly porn free, though the plot was rather predictable.
* I've started Souless and was instantly charmed. There are so many of you I think would love this the way I'm loving it.
* All I have to say about tonight's Being Human is Wow! Just Wow! They really do play hard ball at the BBC. Also, those were some brilliant music cues.

* It turns out the pharmacy did not cheat me on one of my meds last month. They just put it in a box that looked exactly like my flonase. *facepalm* I'm still deaf in my right ear, but my right ear is much better, which really helps. The apartment needs cleaning, clothes need mending, and I'm still feeling pretty crap, but rent is paid and there is food.
* I dreamed my mom was sick again and I was back east to look after her. I went hunting for food. They'd put in a counter culter mini-mall thing where the golf course is. There was an original hardcore punk being interviewed for NPR there and it was being also broadcast ver the mini-mall intercom. This being Philly, finding safe food was hard and I checked the whole place out. There was a stand selling a variety of pork things including keilbasa, but not much for me. i did find a safe looking pizza stand. While in line, i noticed they were selling a new kind of soda. They had names like Silk Goth and sophisticated Goth and flavors included cinnamon and vegan thai iced tea. They were made with cane sugar and real flavors instead of chemicals like most American sodas. They had lovely Gorey style label art.
I want those sodas to exist.
* Today was beautiful cat weather, but I wasted it doing begging of the month errands. I know, I'm terrible to those cats.

* I don't know if I'd mentioned this, but the sex shop chain Lovers is not only a trans friendly employer, but a non-binary friendly employer. There aren't a lot of places that cool with the non-binary. They may be very cheesy, but people can transition in place and expect not to be hassled by management if they don't fit gender expectations.
