Jan. 17th, 2011 01:31 am* I do think that one of the many reasons we need Universal Health care in this country is the difficulty in getting and paying for appropriate mental health treatment and medications. It seems to me that some of the people most in need of services are the people least able to fight through a bureaucratic forest to get help and are also the least likely to understand they need help at all. (Schizophrenics are by the very nature of their condition in this group. It applies to folks with severe conditions in other categories as well, though).

* Tea box is done and ready to go. I'm nearly done A Local Habitation. It's still well written and I still like the characters and world design, which is why I tend to read this genre anyway. Still, unlike Feed and Rosemary and Rue, I solved it very fast. I really do like her narrative style and I do plan to keep reading the series, but I hope the third one is as clever as the first. This was a bit of a let down, but only because my expectations for the author are so high after reading her other books.
