* President Obama has released a new Defense Policy that essentially repudiates the Neo Con World police "Let's randomly invade countries and try to use military force to create stability even though that's completely impossible" policy.

Thank you, Mr. President. Now can we withdraw from Afghanistan?

* Twenty people were killed and 66 wounded in two bombing attacks in Baghdad.

* 31 people were killed in a prison fight in Mexico.

* Santorum is claiming the video where he was talking about "black people" being on welfare misquoted him... Riiiiight. He's also claiming he never compared gay men to pedophiles and practitioners of bestiality, despite the tape showing the contrary. Riiiiight. He's also saying George W. Bush is responsible for killing Osama Bin Laden not President Obama, all facts to the contrary.

* Newt Gingrich also went after "Black people" for being on food stamps today, because you really can't have enough competition for the racist vote.

* 9% of food stamp recipients in Iowa are African American. Over 80% are white. Yet somehow, it's the African Americans getting singled out by Gingrich and Santorum

* They booed Santorum in new Hampshire today for doubling down on his anti-gay marriage stance.

* George Will thinks Santorum is "fun." *snerk*

* There is now a Ron Paul add accusing former Ambassador John Huntsman of being a Chinese mole on the grounds that he adopted two children from there, learned to speak a little Chinese to help negotiations, and was an Ambassador to the country and there fore visited it. I think they may have watched "The Manchurian candidate" a few too many time. *facepalm*

* Remrember Gov. Scott Walker, who is facing recall over stripping union rights and for taking money from senior citizens to pay for corporate tax breaks? It turns out some of his appointees are facing corruption charges for stealing from veterans and pedophilia charges. Charming.

* I genuinely teared up when I heard Bob Anderson'd died: http://lettersfromtitan.tumblr.com/post/15371394167/hogwarts-is-definitely-doomed-bob-anderson

* We haven't forgotten we owe people money; it's just the car situation desperately needs fixing first.

* Apparently someone, possibly the car thieves, got a hold of Squirrel's bank information and got a phone using his account. The thief put his name on it, so there is some hope of actual arrest.

* Apparently the computer problem is that they didn't give us the right device, which means a long trek north to exchange parts, which we can't do until we have a car again. Sigh.

* I think I caught the ick from all those people coughing on the bus earlier in the week, one more "challenge making tomorrow difficult.

* After several hours of howling and frustration, I got the Butt to return the fish four times. I don't remotely think he's bright enough to grasp the big picture of why bringing the fish back so I can throw it again is a good idea, but I'm hoping he can learn by rote to bring the toy when he wants me to throw it, as he really likes the pettins, praise, and attention. (He wants the human to follow him around to throw the fish, and expresses this by howling. I'm willing to play fetch, but not to spend hours following him around while he plays).

* I ended up doing bureaucracy instead of retrenching. It was that sort of day.

* I was right! The brilliant and sensible Melissa Harris Perry is getting her own show! *snoopy dance*

* Debuncking claims that Indiana's attempt to smash the Unions is about job creation, since the stats show no correlation between "right to work" states and Union states. Instead, the goal is to dramatically lower wages for folks who work for a living: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#45894457
