gwydion* Yesterday, I wept for the President's speech at the battle of the line, for fictional exhausted pilots going back out to die. Today, I wept all over against watching the commentary. damn you, JMS for making me feel stuff!
Then I came out to the living room to weep even more watching real life soldiers come out on TV and youtube, finally free from repercussions. Yes, I know trans folk probably won't have the same freedom in my lifetime, but it still moved me knowing so many people can know openly exchange letters and phone calls from loved ones, lifelines for soldiers in the field and stitches holding relationships together over time and distance. For me that's what DADT repeal is really about. Yes, I want more. Yes I won't shut up short of full equality, but still, I say, "Thank you, Mr President."
Republican Presidential candidates are vowing to reinstate the ban. Of course. After all, they are mostly anti-evolution and there's never been a bad idea they didn't like.

Thank you to rm for finding it so thayt I didn't have the heartbreaking job of tracking down the item. * I see Rick Perry's outright telling lies about Obama's Israel position in ways that imply he's a secret Muslim. After all, what does this election need but more lies and racism, right? *facepalm*
* They plan to execute Troy Davidson, even though the police tampered with evidence and forced 7 of 9 witnesses to purger themselves. They last chance is supreme court, but they are so partisan hard right, I'm expecting that this poor bastard is going to be executed anyway, despite not having a fair trial.
