gwydion* The Brian Williams thing is sad. I suspect the raconteur took over from the newsman in less formal settings and memory is a malleable thing over time. I liked him on talk shows, where he had a dry sense of humor I admire. It is disappointing that he did this thing and that it casts doubt on a career's worth of reporting.
* We have done 80% of the bombing against ISIL, I am confused as to how that constitutes less than Jordon is doing, but FOX News tells me it is true. Can we fire all the news casters who lie outright and repeatedly and not just (maybe) Brian Williams? (I know it's a six month's suspension, but I suspect he is done as a news anchor).

* Jon Stewart's leaving is heart breaking, but not surprising. That's an awfully long time to be doing a job like this and he has been expressing other interests lately. I'd love to see Jessica Williams, W. Kamau Bell, or Wyatt Cynac get the show, but I'm not holding my breathe.
* I admit, it's been a long time since I was young, but it seems to me an anti-smoking campaign that makes smoking look like a really cool movie or video game is likely to have the opposite effect to that intended.
