* There has been a massive political change here in the Cat Asylum over the last week or so. Elder Kitty has decided she is tired of Tavy's bullshit and has basically decided to give him the full force of her pre-depression personality. She has basically taken over the common areas and has not only colonized Livia's napping chair and the entire sofa, but has cleared a section of a side desk of my things so she can sleep in the corner.
It's the time of year when the Imperial couple spend a lot of time sleeping in my bed at night anyway, so I suspect Tavy will start pushing back when the whether warms, but for now the Imperial couple turn up at the feeding stations or to look for birds or in Tavy's case sit on me at lug time, but they are doing most of their napping in solidly imperial territory.
I more disgusting news, I thought my toilet had an intermittent leak and I was hoping the renovation would solve it. I keep cleaning it and cleaning it, but I couldn't trace the source, since the pattern wasn't consistent. Over the course of the last week, I had reason to suspect it wasn't a leak after all.
At bedtime last night I got definitive proof it wasn't a leak. It was elder kitty. %$^*! She's old and mildly demented. It's not her fault, but I really need her to not take a dump on my floor. I cleaned it and got squirrel to change her personal box. It's possible this is her making a statement of ownership aimed at Livia. She's been more excepting of Livia lately, but that's Livia's personal turf she's befowling.
Bonus I came out to find someone had blerped all over a bunch of essential paperwork and library books. Tavy's had the medicine finger. I'll need to find the least traumatic way to dose Livia. On the upside, today was an extra good pettin day for her and she's started letting me play string and/or wrigglers with her in the evenings, which is big, since she's often too nervous to play with others. She's also tarted telling Tavy no more clearly.
