It was impressive as hell. It was right on top of us, with next to no delay between strike and thunder. The lights and the computer power supply kept flickering alarmingly. Lucking, it wasn't the kind of wind we usually get with Autumn storms, so the hard rain wasn't enough to knock branches off trees. Power stayed on, but I do think turning everything off and heading to bed was the right precaution.
