* The burn situation is really bad. I wish I could have gone to the hospital for it, but with burns that bad I couldn't have done an eight hour stint in the waiting room with n ice once the ice I'd brought with me had melted. I couldn't have lasted five minutes without ice, the pain was so bad, and with no AS meds to take the edge off of it. I wish there existed a place to get treatment in an emergency, but hospitals don't consider second degree burns an emergency, which means waiting in line for the usual eight with people coughing dangerous pathogens on me the whole time and that terrible burn pain. At least at home I had ice and tramadol. I'm treating it with antibiotic cream. The first degree burn is about the size of my spread palm. The three second degree burns are smaller, ranging in size from my thumbprint to a sunflower seed. I can tell its going to scar. Sigh.
I also hairlined the fragile toe the night I got burned. I'm still antibiotic sick. I am still covered in hives. My system is under so much stress I've been feverish for days, and the AS is extra bad the last few weeks.
It is bad enough I woke up craving magic soup, or that green curry soup the other good thai place makes. Spring rolls, pad woonsen jae, thai iced tea.... I couldn't eat any of it, of course, nit until the last dose of the antibiotic is out of my system, some time tomorrow, and even then, I can't be wasting money on luxuries. At last I finally got squirrel to empty the washer after I got burned, which dramatically cuts down the chance of my burning myself again cooking, since I can use the sink instead of trying to balance the sieve precariously on the divider with no hands so I can use both to pour the pasta. (This is how I got scalded last time and the time before. It's likely how I'll get badly scalded next time). It's still an act of courage to boil anything right now, but pasta with white sauce is one of the few things I can keep down on this antibiotic.
I am exhausted and is pain and incredibly queasy and I really need this course of antibiotics to be over.
