The overt purpose is to curtail 1st amendment rights such as free speech and assembly which is horrific and wrong, but I suspect they consider the Eugenacist effect to be a feature, not a bug.

Yes, I know there is supposedly a medical exemption, but how are people going to prove to police they are disabled enough to deserve exemption? Do you trust police to not blanket arrest disabled people if they want to? because I don't. do you think disabled people should have to present papers whenever they are in public? Because that's fucking distopian.

Also, I think people should have a right to mask so as not to become disabled from long COVID or risk spreading contagious diseases to lest robust friends and family.

* 8/22/24 Goth Millennial is finally getting paid again to look after me. Millennials descended at dinner time. Many things are cleaner. We collaborated on Spaghetti (My sauce and pasta, Newest Millennial's tofu) and a most excellent dessert (Nearby Millennials blackberry scones, my ice cream, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. Goth Millennial still has some bureaucracy to battle through but the oppressed by multiple bureaucracies since last March may have an end in site.

* 8/23/24 Thursday morning I checked my reserves and decided I could afford to go get bread and juice. Maybe even bagels. I had a hankering for toast and I'm a little over a week in on one of my ubiquitous low grade infections. My doctor checked me over Monday and it looks like my immune system is actually attempting to fight it, which is always a pleasant surprise. So I'm supposed to be drinking juice to help things along since it absorbs easier than the vitamins I am also taking.

So I was like, I'll finish things up and go early, before morning rush hour traffic. Why traffic? Because the closest grocery store, which used to be open all night, but now claims to be 5AM - Midnight, has leaned hard into the Greedflation for necessities. (Some things are still good to get there and my OTC only spends in a few chains, this being one of them, so I buy certain reasonable things on OTC there, but there are only a handful of things I will spend my own money on there.)

Every instinct in my body and the shades of at least a century and a half of my maternal ancestors balk at spending $10 on a loaf of bread, so I thought the cost benefit on a drive up to the reasonably priced employee owned ethical all night grocery. It was closed. I guess they aren't all night any more. Of course they had no hours posted, just the big open 24 hours sign. I did not want to wait 45ish minutes in a dark parking lot hoping they opened at five.

So no toast. No juice no bagels. I put the money in my gas tank instead like a responsible adult. On the way back from the gas station, a warning light came on.

The Blue Beast needs maintenance about three times a year, which is not surprising given it's age. I had money earmarked for a different bill, but I guess I'm doing this instead. It is about time for the autumn maintenance anyway. I should have planned for that, but it slipped my mind. My hope is that's all that's going on and it's not yet another tube or wire or valve crumbling to dust, which I can't cover. In any case, we find out Monday.

So the staying up to call the mechanic means with Wednesday and Friday morning telehealth for a procedure I do not want to undergo, but likely must, means three days in a row of being forced to stay up while being exhausted from the low grade infection. Add to that Monday's staying up for the doctor to be tested... I am exhausted. I'm mostly only managing about half the physio because I'm too tired and in too much pain for the standing parts.

I really need things to be easier than this.
