The Democrats held firm for us every time, negotiation after negotiation, and that's something I never expected to see.

I know we are all exhausted from having to fight for every inch for so many years, and we'll have to fight hard on this and censorship and a host of other things in the coming year, but we are making a difference.

* Friday: I spent a stupid amount on time on hold waiting to be connected to the surgeon's answering machine. The cleaner failed to show up for the ninth time in a row.

New Medical social worker called me at 7AM instead of waking me up, then wondering why I was grumpy. It's the most productive talk we've had since she took over my case. (Previous medical social worker had a note in my file to call first thing or call after 3PM, hence her getting the funny, charming engaged version of me).

I planned to go to bed today as soon as the cleaner failed to show up as I have a crucial telemedicine thing mid-sleep cycle, but there was an hour left on the podcast and I decided to post aggregate while I waited for forage delivery. Today is going to be Rough. Food arrived ten minutes to podcast's end, so I decided to clean the aggregate scaffold before putting things away. Good Night.

* My arm is covered in bruises. Most of them were from late Saturday when Tavy didn't want pettins, but also didn't want Livia to have pettins, but whatever i did to the corresponding hand remains a mystery.

Tuesday a cleaner came!!! The record stands at ten skipped appointments for those keeping track. The last cleaner came November 3. Did I mention the dishwasher broke a couple of weeks ago? So shit's been wild. (The usual repair guy is retiring. I can't reach the recommended replacement, but we haven't a hope of paying until January in any case. My bills are caught up and Squirrel blew all his pay on his, but the leeway is small and I'm pretty sure it's the pump. Again.)

Tuesday's cleaner was the nice, quiet Gen Z Gentleman. He's really thorough with the actual dishwashing which is essential since we can't use the machine for sanitizing and I'm medically fragile). My goal was dishes and a full linen change. He made it right under the wire, like a superhero. We really really need someone to come soon, though as a ton of things have fallen by the wayside what with the me not really being able to use my arm for much and Goth Millennial struggling to keep up with all the extra work.

It has been so long since there was a cleaner the cats had stopped expecting one and were Not Ready. Livia stayed in the secure hide for ages instead of coming out quickly after he left. Tavy likes this cleaner, but was uncharacteristically shy, monitoring from his room. He did not even try to maul us during bed change!

* My thoughts tend to be a mix of words, lyrics, snatches of music, smells, images, etc.. At any given time odds are good that my brain is running two songs, either alternating or as a mash-up.

For reasons involving it being referenced somewhere, in the last couple days, one of them is Candle in the Wind (Marilyn Lyrics). For assotiative reasons, my brain picked Peter, Paul, and Mary's "Last Thing on My Mind." The result is that the phrase, "I could have loved you better, but I was just a kid" floating through my brain when the edges lined up exactly Right.

It just occurred to me that this could serve as an absolutely brutal epitaph for my wild and colourful, but now defunct love life.

Ouch, Brain, ouch!
