* Tuesday was one of the disability services assessments I am required to do every year. We mostly talked about my arm. There was the inevitable dementia test, of course. Even though obviously the test is super easy, I always end up poking at my brain after, as if the act of being made to take one makes me feel less competent.

We won't know for a bit how this effects Goth Millennials or cleaner hours, but Goth Millennial is assured not to lose any, according to the assessor. They may also get Honest Contractor (Some of you may remember him for such episodes as the time the city paid a guy to fix a bunch of things in my house the Winter of 2019-2020, or that time we lost power to a third of the apartment between Christmas and New Year because the builder wired everything wrong, and he fixed it for free with a bit of wire and a paper clip.) to come put a pull bar by the toilet so I can use my left hand to get up on a bad hip day. There is no grab bar now, but a bit of wall juts out and I can use it a little with my right arm on a good shoulder day, but I need a long term solution. Medicare advantage FTW.

* So Tavy was scheduled for a medicine finger. In these situations, I wait until he's hassling Livia to administer his meds because he hates it and if I'm going to do something he hates I might as well use it to discourage something I don't want him to do.

Livia, who is no fool, has noticed the pattern of she complains loudly about harassment from the bedroom and one of us comes and glares at him so he stops. If it's me or squirrel, we generally come give her a little pet. She has recently started weaponizing this by now and then crying wolf to get the pet.

Wednesday night, this strategy bit her in the ass. I heard her do her "stop it! I mean it!" yell, and quickly prepped meds and went in there to dose the emperor. Problem was the Emperor was not trying to colonize her spot on the bed, he was innocently just up from a nap. It was too late not to dose him, so I gave him a little pet and then betrayed him by slipping him cat laxative.

Livia was already in one of her favorite pettin spots waiting for the love. She generally only gets a dose 4-6 times a year, rather than weekly, so she no longer reacts when he gets dosed and ignores medicine smell on my non-pettin hand. So I gave her a little pettin and then to her horror, gave her a half dose!!!

In other news I broke the fragile toe again. Squirrel taped it up so it should be fine.

* Thursday I stayed up for a morning bureaucracy appointment downtown, in the hopes of getting some services I'm supposedly entitled to. After I got one of my periodic blood tests, and had a chat with the pharmacy. This ate most of the morning.

No cleaner, no call Friday, apparently. Sigh.

* Friday was the first real windstorm of the windy season. Livia was confused and concerned until she remembered what all that noise was.

* My car broke yet again in late October. As I feared it was the hose that keeps the engine cool. Why feared? It's in the middle of all the gear under the hood. Hose and fluid replacements are cheap. an hour and a half of labor to take it all apart then put it back in is incredibly expensive. $230 worth in total. I have paid Squirrel back for the gas for the week and a halfish, I was borrowing his car, thanks to a donor. The repairs ate most of my bill money for the month.
