* Squirrel's car broke about a week ago. Thursday we got it back. I was driving Head Millennial home when a warning light came on in my car. Fuckssake! so now that on top of the big February Bills that come every year and I need to stay up and deal with it.

In other news I stopped at a Walgreens to try to use the OTC benefit card there. They had helpfully labeled OTC stuff, making the whole thing easier. still no literature about the card from Social security though.

In other, other news, the rash was about fifty cent piece size this time instead of hand size and was down to a quarter by Thursday. somehow just as itchy and distracting and hard to sleep through, alas, but it's a good gauge of how much better the slower dosing is working. It took three days for the rash to get down to barely there last time, and two extra days for itch twinges and sinus gunk to pass.

We had to move Sunday Fungi (Last of Us and Head Millennial's homemade lasagna with mushrooms) to Thursday, for reasons beyond our control, so of course I got massively spoiled, which I hate, but there was nothing for it as moth the TV and the internet would not stop telling me things I didn't want to know. We had Nearby Millennial over as well. The lasagna is a major undertaking for head Millennial, so a rare treat. Because I'm vegetarian, it's two lasagnas.

I'd gotten zucchinis instead of eggplant for mine, because that was was what the store had and I like both just fine. (Yes, yes, I know). Head Millennial has very little zucchini experience. There was a small panic when the Millennial thought I might be about to poison myself. Them: "What about the skin!" Me, thinking this was a cooking question: Skin's fine. Just slice it up. Them: But what about grass binding to the skin! Me: Wrong season and it doesn't effect zucchini, just cucumber and a bunch of melons. I can eat cucumber now safely if I like.

There followed a discussion of weird science facts learned while cooking.

* So remember how I had a bunch of car stuff last fall. It turns out the problem was way bigger than thought at the time. They did a temp fix which gives me mobility this week, but I need to be super careful not to tax the Blue Beast with unnecessary travel. I did go use the OTC grocery benefit on the way home for fresh salad stuff, cheese and juice, which I know is decadent of me but I am exhausted and in pain and I've been wanting salad for two weeks. Also, OTC benefit is limited to "Healthy foods" however they define that. (Still no documentation on what that means). They are ordering new parts and I need to take it back on the 15th, which fucks with my Medical stuff, so I'm going to see if Medicare transport will take me but it wasn't solvable Monday night as the bureaucracy stack was massive and added to the car and trying to feed and medicare myself and beasts and the waiting in line at the grocery. Sigh.

I want to thank people for car tax money and the extra, which is now going into fixing the car. Again. It is literally what y'all sent that makes any of this solvable. As it is if I fix the car there will be nothing left at all for bills, and not having a car isn't a viable option at my disability level. Bus pass costs the same as gas, and I literally can't manage hobbling miles to and from bus stops to places I need to go, plus all the standing around at stops without benches. It's too much. I can barely manage the hobbling involved in things like doctor stuff and grocery shopping. I've been waiting to hear back as to whether I qualify for disabled transport since 2008, which I take to mean No. Plus I can't haul things for the millennials that way.

Housing bill comes soon. Fuck. I thought this year was going to be better. At least I have electricity and a working stove, which I suppose puts me ahead of 2022. Still it was utterly discouraging as I thought Autumn repairs had bought me another eight months. (Eight months being how long it can go these days without servicing the oil system).

Anyway, I'm about to be between 410-450 behind on bills depending on how much labor costs for installing everything. They usually end up the low end of the estimate, but my car is ancient, fragile, and poorly designed, so sometimes there are surprises like things no longer coming apart as intended, fasteners needing replacing, or problems only visible when you pull an assembly out, but it's likely $410, I'll be short.
