* I am tired. I was planning to go to bed early and then I got caught up in writing a big thing elsewhere about the class implications of bread in the medieval-Early modern era and also mincemeat because the evolution of mincemeat pie is fascinating, and...

And I got hardly any sleep, because I had to be up, dressed, and coherent when the nice social worker lady called. It's the annual assess patient needs/medical situation/services call. she's going to try to wrangle be some things that might help, but it's mostly long shot. The issue is that I can mostly get around under my own power and bath myself, but the arm deterioration in particular is causing me massive problems as far as essential housework. I'm sort of on the bubble for the more serious services.

Anyway, I'm massively behind on news and I actually paused the aggregation and went back for more articles I'd read while prepping to post. It's not nearly enough, but I really do need good sleep tonight and that means wrapping the aggregate before it doubles again.

It looks like we are doing a zoom party for my birthday, which is what we did for my oldest consecutive RL friend a while back. One way or another, I'm having cake here, damnit. There's not going to be secret pumpkins or any of the usual stuff, since me and Squirrel shopping for Gothmas gifts to give out to guests can't happen. We may get outside decorations if things work out car and scheduling wise, but I can't physically manage the interior display myself anymore, though I am terribly tempted to try. Normally I do the interior stuff in September and I'd have outside up a week ago. I'll miss it.
