* Monday I had forage and the change of a twenty gallon, which I combined with switching the tank lighting with the other twenty. This is because Livia Sweet has recently taken to standing on her hind legs and peering wistfully into the tank. I think se wated to fish, but didn't want to get wet and it always takes her couple of weeks to a month to get used to a new idea and try it. This configuration dramatically increases the difficulty on the tank she's taken an interest in. It's not perfect, but she's easy to discourage for better or worse and this at least buys a bunch of time.

Tuesday I did my "Wheel Man" thing to help friends who had things to transport, but no vehicle. It pretty much involves me sitting in the car while they work, but it was mid sleep cycle. After, I had about an hour of phone bureaucracy. All this extra phone bureaucracy is in aid of me getting services that I desperately need. It also means a huge amount of being charming to people on the phone and allowing authorities into my life in a way that I have trouble accepting. I am now officially "Special Needs" because of my poverty and physical fragility. If you know me at all, you know how hard all of this is for me. I am really bad with even the kindest of intrusive authority, no matter how much I for real like the people doing it. I am terrible at trust and ceding control.

I am doing it anyway because it needs to be done. I am self aware enough to see how badly I am deteriorating physically and thus how many things I have had to let slip. This is long term more sustainable and rational, but hard choices are one of my strengths.

I had to stay up for Wednesday dentist. I made progress on the links, but the news has been coming so fast and hard that by the time I absolutely had to shut down and go, I only had half of Monday and half of Tuesday done. I did not have time to post the dreamwidth digest, and after the dentist, I just did the lung treatment and went the fuck to bed. Phone bureaucracy called me back at 4, but I really, really needed the sleep, which means up and dressed for phone bureaucracy tomorrow. Sigh. And Friday is forage. This is too many things for y to handle in a week and my body is screaming. And Wednesday was an over the top news day. I will do what I can.

An amusing side note from the teeth cleaning: For all that I am a ruin and unrecognizable from what I once was, the hygienist could not believe I was nearly 50. I still have the baby face that had people thinking I was in High school until I was nearly forty, even if that face looks nothing like it did when people used to stop and stare at me on the street. She eventually asked me about my skin care regimen, which is hilarious, given I have none beyond the occasional spot treatment for zits stretching all the way back to adolescence. I told her I was an original Goth. I mostly just avoid the sun. No sun bathing and relatively little exposure has preserved my skin better than the entire cosmetics industry could have.

In related news, despite the damage done by not being able to afford dental copays for several years, my TMJ, and my shitty gum genetics, my teeth are doing pretty well for nearly half a century of wear. I'm going back in July to have a spot on my most problematic molar looked at, but really I'm doing well with a normal tooth regimen. At least one part of me still works.
