* The party Sunday went really well. I remembered the mulling spices and Squirrel and my Secret Pumpkin presents. I picked up various people and food and tok them to the party. I mulled cider and they baked the pizza and we worked out what we want to do or the RP campaign I am hoping to start running in November.
Long time readers will remember the Cake Saga. For three years now, I desperately wanted a black and white cake, preferably with purple icing and a skull decoration on top for my birthday. I know, I know, a frivolous thing, but black and white cake is my favorite and it's out of rotation at the bakery, so I tried to order it only they didn't make it last year and it was disappointing. With long term poverty, one must find one's joys where one can.
Readers, I am pleased to report that they Made My Cake this year! A friend took a picture, but hasn't sent it yet. When he does I will post it. It was a good party with good friends and the food we wanted and friendly cats for people to pet and a super model bunny to look at. I drove us slowly down the street with all the Halloween decorations, the street being empty of other cars that time of night on a Sunday. The fog wasn't too bad coming home, and there was enough gas to get there and back again with guest pick up and drop off, though not much more, but that is Tomorrow's problem. Note to self: mail eBay tomorrow.
It was a good Birthday.
* Monday, I went to forage without getting gas. D'oh! I did mail the ebay and had enough gas left to get me to the good gas station where the gas was an astonishing 25-27 cents less than it is pretty much everywhere else right now, which meant I could get almost a gallon and a half. I came home to the excellent Birthday prezzie of a seamstress guild (Discworld) thimble which is both beautiful and useful sent in the mail. I have changed a tank that very much needed it, and have nearly got everything from the party put away. I had leftover party food for dinner, which is good since the errands and putting things away ate most of the spoons.
