* I managed to get a few hours of sleep before the boys turned up for a lake picnic. We swam until we were exhausted. After I dropped them off I was doing my lungs on the sofa when the person I expected yesterday turned up. We had miscommunication, it turned out. It was lucky as 15 minutes later and I'd have been naked and covered in soap. I am exhausted and I really should be baking for tomorrow's friend birthday, but I suspect I won't manage it. I am medicated heavily between allergies/sinus and the sun headache and the ache ache so quality may be below average.

Update: Usually when I'm this tired, I go to bed early, but it's too hot to bake until after Midnight. Really, it's too hot to bake just generally. The upside of flavored meringues is that one bakes them at a lower temperature than most things one bakes. The downside is that means a long bake time. Also, at this humidity level things like meringues can be dicey. Still, the oven was enough to significantly raise the apartment temperature, but Birthdays are Birthdays damnit.

Update2: They came out right despite the humidity, so I'm officially calling it a win.

* I want there to exist a TV or movie in which a Toby Stephens character and a Ben Daniels character have a complicated romantic relationship while also being on opposite sides of something. Spies, politics, pirates vs navy, angel vs demon, aliens.... I don’t really care. They both do complicated men so well and Stephens has that turn on a dime from charming to murderous thing. Imagine the fun of them working hard to thwart each other and then after dark... Bam!

While I am imagining things I’d love to exist, can we having a project with Janelle Monáe and Jessica Parker Kennedy teaming up to do... again anything really Politics. Heists. Running a star ship. I don’t fucking care. I just want to see them do something amazing and adventurous together.
