Tavy came for his first extended shoulder cuddle and two hour arm nap since Livia came last night. Today I was awakened by them playing amoung my legs. Later Tavy sat on my hip while she tried out all the mests on or about my person, before settling in to nap on top of my. Her first on the person sleep! Squirrel commented on how much better behaved he is generally since she came and refereed to Livia as a "Good influence.

* I am not the sort of person who reads celebrity auto-biographies unless there is a compelling reason to. A friend with excellent taste recommended Rupert Everett's Vanished Years for me specifically, and provided some charmingly worded excerpts in support of this being clearly book for me. I started it Wednesday evening and it is both written in an absolutely delightful voice, and almost unnervingly like the inside of my skull. This is one of those incredibly rare, but wonderful experiences of finding some similar. The details are different, but the mental furniture is recognizable to the point that the differences startle. My friend says there is a story later on that is so like one of mine one would think he had pinched it from me, though him being elevenish years older, logic suggests the other way around. I am charmed. I am fascinated. I can't wait to see what happens next. Apparently it's one of a set and he has some novels. Apparently I absolutely have to read them all.

Who knew he could write like this? No wonder I had such a fascination with him in high school when I saw him in Another Country, the first of two total movies I've seen in my entire life that spoke in anyway to my own teenaged experience. It is unnerving and amazing.

I should likely mention it’s really well written and witty enough to startle me into audible laughter.
