Mar. 24th, 2017 01:17 am* The Republicans have postponed the vote to take health care away from 24 million hard working Americans. It's not dead and we need to keep the pressure up.
Watching people in the town halls begging there Congressmen not to kill them, their wives, their parents, and/or children very specifically, naming the diseases that they have and that that vote will literally kill them without their cancer treatment, medications, etc., I started thinking of Die Ins. I know some of you are too young to remember these though you may have seen stills or the like. Back in the days when people were dying so incredibly fast, when the press was mostly ignoring or demonizing the dead and dying, when no one gave a fuck in Washington that we were losing a goodly chunk of two generations of our Queer community, when the President refused to even say the words HIV and AIDS, when the politicians were fighting hard against funding for research and prevention backed by the Christian Wrong, the literal dying used to go and protest in this way. I think that the heartless conscienceless monsters who want to kill so many of us (us being ordinary people) so the riches 2% and the insurance companies can get yet another tax cut. They preach about us not wanting to die as an evil undeserved entitlement, but what about the incredible entitlement of the very rich who want to take someone's cancer treatments or their insulin because as people who were born incredible wealthy they believe the whole of our government only exists to take away from the poor and middle class to give to them these undeserved and unneeded extras. This is blood money.
They should have to step over the bodies of the sick and the elderly and the injured every fucking place they go. The should have to step over us going into and out of their district offices and homes. They should have to step over us on the way to vote. They are their richest 2% donars should have to step over us going into and out of speeches and fundraisers. They have proved thy are incapable of decency, empathy, or shame, but they can be made personally uncomfortable and they are capable of noticing how the optics might effect their reputations.
We need to bring back the Die Ins because if we can not stop them the death toll will be terrible.
