Jul. 3rd, 2016 06:08 amWhy no proper post? I meant to get out earlier today for perishables, but the infection made me need an extra three hours in bed. Still, I went. I also scored a super cheap desk with shelving out of the $20.00 discretionary I allow myself on a good month. I almost didn’t take it despite the two problems it would solve, because it meant a massive game of furniture tetris I was not convinced I was well enough to play even with a bit of help from Squirrel and a ridiculously good looking Grad student passing by. (Look, I couldn’t help but notice him being exactly my type from when I was that age. Seriously, he was in that 1st Black Belt/Zeyr/Bjorn/Skye sweet spot I spent my late teens, twenties, and early 30’s rocking. I did not ogle. I just thanked him. I am always polite even with my eyes). The result is a wider passage in and out of my office space, some extra shelving, a higher table in the livingroom as I use that as a dining room table and work space, the coffee table now serving as an end table where I can put necessary clutter, extra height for the good living room lamp so it no longer blocks the TV from a key location in the kitchen. I also spot cleaned the floor. There is also a massive mess as a ridiculous amount of secondary things need sorting and putting away, but traffic flow in the common areas is dramatically better and I can live with the sofa access being a bit pinched until I can move some more things to happier locations.
I am also literally shaking from the effort and likely burned most of the spoons for the coming week. I think it was worth it. I just wish I could afford to get main computer fixed. The work station looks so neat.
