* There is fighting on the Lebanon/Israeli border after someone fired an anti-tank shell blowing up an Israeli vehicle.

* I am aware of the Jordon/ISIL prisoner exchange negotiation, but I am not up to writing anything subtle and cogent enough about it.

* Fighting in Tripoli has caused the recognized government of Libya to flee Tripoli, with a coalition of militias taking over.

* How bad is John Boehner at his job? John Boehner had enough votes lined up to pass a bill preventing President Obama from negotiating with Iran about stopping their nuclear program in exchange for lifting some of the particularly inhumane sanctions preventing civilians from getting medical treatments and the like. That is, until he invited Benjamin Netanyahu to come to the States to personally lobby congress folk for his bill. Inviting a foreign head of state over here as a lobbyist to undermine US foreign policy rubbed some people the wrong way and he lost key Democratic votes as a result.
