Aug. 5th, 2014 02:21 am* I have lost track of how many UN School/refugee camps the Israelis have bombed including yesterdays. Apologies. Today, the Israeli ground troops pulled out saying they'd finished that part of the mission (tunnel eradication, etc.). There are announced talks again. I'm not holding my breath as I have trouble believing either side is going to deal in good faith. (I'm not a fan of either Hamas or Benjamin Netanyahu, both of whom seem to care very little what sort of damage they do to civilians, and are extremely militaristic).
* James Brady has died. Many of you are likely too young to know who that is. He was shot in an assassination attempt against Ronald Regan and survived, despite some pretty horrifying wounds. He became an advocate for sensible gun legislation. The "Brady Bill" was named for him, and he's why Ronald Regan backed gun control legislation.

* What did I do today? Djinni came over to do more planning and to shoot footage for our fundraiser. Hector got soooo many treats, as the first (better take) of our part didn't record. (The one where he did tricks and I was more coherent). Thank you, Djinni and Greenwick! After, I did hours of computer house keeping, as the BPAL board is back up. I ended up only doing about half of what I intended before I got tired. If things are sparse tonight, this is why.
