* Remember that while Arizona is particularly egregious, in many states including NY and California, being a trans woman of colour out at night for any reason is considered proof of prostitution and the police routinely arrest them for no other reason.
* So it turns out the November Con Crud this year is potentially fatal. Good to know. I am started targeted antibiotics right now. They are talking prophylactic IV antibiotics in my near future. I've watched this process. I'm not looking forward to it, but I've been expecting it for a year and half and have been waiting for the Doctors to catch up.
To me, not having to fight for treatment for things I know are serious bad is a relief. I generally already know how sick I am. They expect hysterics, I'm like "That's a relief, we can finally work on mitigation instead of me wasting energy going to various Doctors trying to convince them I am seriously ill, possibly dying. (Remember, it took more than half a decade to get them to take me seriously enough to remove the massive tumor colony that was literally killing me. We named it Herberton).
So this one very likely won't kill me, nor the next nor the next. It's a war of attrition that with modern medicine takes decades. (People like me used to be dead before they were old enough to drink). There is a line from a Gus VanSant song about addiction that I think of often in regards to the time bomb in my genes, "They say it'll kill me but they won't say when." It's a perfect description of what it's like living with something slow and fatal. This is definitely slow and fatal.
