* They have ended the Congressional Page program for budgetary reasons. I dated an ex-page once in the long ago. He had been kicked out for not selling pot. No really. another page asked if he had any he could sell him. My boy said no. A third page reported him. Apparently not selling pot is a sign of poor morals, besmirching the image of congress. O.o I genuinely have trouble believing that refusing to sell pot was the worst thing going on in Congress in the 1980's. Anyway, congressional pages were a long held tradition, and it's rather sad to see them go.

* Rioting in England keeps spreading to more towns and cities. I'm surprised there is so little coverage.

* Despite this being an off season recall election, there have been traffic jams and 45-1 hour long lines at the polls.

* They have packed the panel investigating the Murdoch Phone hacking scandal in the Us side has been packed with Rupert Murdoch's cronies. The feds are countering by looking into filing a Rico case. For my overseas readers, the Rico Law is used to indict multiple defendants in large scale criminal enterprises. It is most often used for organized crime and the like, but can also be used for things like conspiracies for Insider trading and the like. It requires multiple crimes riddling an organization. I am not holding my breathe.
