* For the record, I don't identify with Spike, (I'm not a romantic), but I do recognize him. It's like Dean Winchester being incredibly familiar. These are the kind of guys I dated when I was young.

* Buffy: Given the way things fell out, I am more resigned to Buffy/Spike, but it still grosses me out. After a guy's stolen a women's underwear and made a sexbot of her, it just doesn't sit right that there might me kisssing and more later on, but at least it's starting to make a little bit of sense.
Re spike: I keep thinking of Harmony over on Angel talking about how much harder it is to do the right thing without a soul. It really applies beautifully to spike. I really love his character design, his failure to really fit either his vampire family or the scoobies. His snark and his underlying romanticicism, his struggle with the faultlines in his nature. hTV, newse is way more interesting than one note Angel ever was.

This is also one of those situations where plastic surgery has pushed a live human into my uncanny valley. She has every right to do that, but it makes it incredibly hard for me to look at her.
* I have taken to thinking of the progression of my degeneration much like what the main character does to the Jared Leto character's face in Fight Club.
* A tea party candidate in Californian is calling for an open hunting season on liberals instead of deer, presumably because the founding fathers preferred political assassination to voting. Sometimes I think the American history I read is almost the exact opposite of what the right wing pretends they've read.
* Sen. Lisa Murkowski stopped them raising liability on oil spills single handedly. Guess her party affiliation. Go on guess.
* Phoenix in particular and Arizona in general is already losing revenue over the Show me your Papers law. They are estimating 10 million lost already and it's not even in effect yet. They are now talking about banning optional Latino studies, women's studies etc. classes in Arizona. Way to double down on the racism and injustice, folks.

* My Mother's cats are running out of time. They have until the first.
* I am still trying to recover from Supernatural. O.o I am also trying to recover from Jim Butcher's Changes. Dayum. Y'all know I like it dark and powerful. Still both in one day was a little like getting mental whiplash.

How sad is it that I consider it a small mercy that the paper is at least using the right pronouns instead of further trying to dehumanize the survivor like most papers do?
