It turns out that was a mistake. 45 was either to lazy to listen properly to his briefing and/or to stupid to understand it, so rubber stamped the suggestions. After it happened he threw one of his massive expletive laced tantrums in fury at us having actually acted like world leaders instead of a Russian satellite as is 45's policy. Good to know. Reality as I know it restored.

Look, I get that Barabara Bush has died and why some people reasonably consider her the least repellent of the family, but I'm nearly as disgusted by the attempts to whitewash "The Bush Legacy" as I was by all the Reagan/Thatcher fanfic that passed for obituaries when Maggie finally kicked it. I'm old enough to remember Iran/Contra and the mess Reagan and HW together made of our economy and how their deregulation agenda was the forerunner of the world economic collapse under their son W., and how Hw cosigned the tx policies that ravaged my generation and the one after it and which Gen Z is starting to come of age after the latest rob the poor and middle Class tax bill that is the direct descendant under trickle down, and how HW and Barbara pandering to Christian extremists led to the horrors we have been experiencing here in the 21st century. The events under Reagan and Bush Sr. led us directly to the nightmare of 45 and Ryan pushing through the nightmare Reagan Bush agenda.
If Barbara Bush was so good and powerful and feminist why was she in bed with people calling for the murder of doctors? Fuck that! I am glad she got to die with dignity. She made the choice so many in my family have made and I do respect that. At the same time, I refuse to pretend she was some sort of saint and that she wasn't the Matriarch of a family that went out of it's way to nourish the Christian Extremist agenda, ravaged our economy, stole the future from our children and grand children and started two Forever wars for Funsies. I do not think 45 would be in the White house now if they hadn't made all the ethically dubious choices they made and this crowing about the Bush family "Enforcer" sickens me.
